Message from The Chairman

The National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) plays an important role in food security and is critical to the country’s achievement of Agenda Four’s Pillar on Food security. It aims at fulfilling this by implementing all related government directives and policies.
To match our service delivery with the high demands of our customers, we have automated our key business processes, deployed the latest ICT and will continually improve and modernize our key facilities and besides streamlining our financial management procedures. We have also adopted a results based management strategy to ensure that we focus on results.
As the NCPB endeavors to become a performance driven and organization focused on performance, we initiated a board driven Mr. Mutea Iringo, CBS Chairman Board of Directors management re-organization aimed at infusing a new leadership and performance culture.
As we continue to offer quality goods and services, we have strengthened our stakeholder engagement; both public and private, to serve customers more efficiently and we will benchmark with the best in the world to ensure that we adopt the best practices so as to attain globally accepted levels of service delivery and superior world class service in our mandate.
To make the national food security system smart, efficient and responsive to the needs of Kenyan citizens, the government instituted reforms at NCPB. These reforms are part of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives’ Agriculture Sector Transformation and Growth Strategy (ASTGS) 2019-2029 seeks to transform the agriculture sector in Kenya and ensure there is adequate national food and nutritional security.
Being an important institution in food security, NCPB is being reformed to make it in line with government’s food security strategies. We are also pushing to have CAP 338 that establishes the NCPB be revised and amended to be in line with the clarified mandate of NCPB.
Mr Mutea Iringo CBS – Chairman
